The build
What we built
Raised-panel wainscot with a cap rail wraps a two-window bay and the walls around a walk-in shower tiled in green marble-look subway tile. Window and door casings with rosette corner blocks, and a cap on the shower half wall, are stained to match the wainscot. Two progress photos show the same panels installed and still unfinished, before staining.
Details worth a closer look
- Raised panels with a cap rail The wainscot runs around the window bay and the walls beside the shower.
- Rosette corner blocks Window and door casings meet at rosette blocks, stained to match the panels.
- Shower half-wall cap The half wall at the shower gets a wood cap in the same stain.
- Photographed mid-build Two progress photos show the panels installed and still unfinished, before staining.
The finished photo was taken near completion, before the vanity top went in.
Raw to finished
The same panels, before and after the stain
In the first photo the raised panels are installed and still raw, next to casings that already carry their stain. In the second, the wainscot and the shower cap are stained to match. The two photos were taken from different spots, so they won’t line up exactly.
