The build

What we built

A long, narrow walnut console with a natural live edge along the front. One end is a full-height mitered waterfall that carries the grain from the top down to the floor; the other end is a shorter waterfall drop carried on black steel hairpin legs. Shown in a hallway, in a satin finish.

Details worth a closer look

  • Full-height waterfall end The top is mitered at one end, so the grain carries from the top down to the floor.
  • Live edge along the front The natural edge of the board stays on the front of the console.
  • Short drop on hairpin legs The other end turns down in a shorter waterfall and rests on black steel hairpin legs.
  • Satin finish The walnut is finished in a low satin sheen.
